DERPROSA is launching its new ECO-FILM range onto the market, which comprises bi-axially orientated polypropylene films (BOPP) with an additive, so that with the action of the sun (UV rays) and/or temperatures greater than 35°C they will start to fragment until they eventually turn into dust, this is subsequently absorbed by bacteria and microorganisms that convert it into CO2 and H20.
Its useful life varies between 8 and 18 months depending on the degree of exposure to sunlight and the temperature.
Therefore, the ECO-FILM range is made up of films that are called OXO-BIODEGRADABLE (we have the relevant certification for this) in accordance with the European legislation (Directive 94/62/CE). To this property, we can add the following:
- Reduction of plastic pollution (reduces the volume of rubbish).
- Environmentally sound (minimises the dumping of organic wastes).
- No toxic wastes.
- The life of the product can be controlled.
Within this range, DERPROSA markets the following films for the graphic arts sector:
- DO 130: Wet gloss oxo-biodegradable film, 12 microns.
- DO 140: Wet matt oxo-biodegradable film, 15 microns.
- DD 230: Thermal gloss oxo-biodegradable film, 24 microns.
- DD 240: Thermal matt oxo-biodegradable film, 27 microns.
Furthermore, this material is compatible with food applications, therefore we are committed to its use in this sector.
