DIGI-STICK

DERPROSA presents its new DIGI-STICK range, which comprises bi-axially orientated polypropylene films (BOPP) that are specially designed for lamination of digital printing substrates, through the application of a special adhesive by extrusion to one of the surfaces.

In recent years and with the evolution of digital technology, the use of digital printers is growing. The main advantage, and the reason for the revolution started by digital printing, is that it allows just the required quantity of items to be made, at a reasonable cost and "just-in-time". Instead of having to have 5000 items printed, it is possible to have fifty prints of a book, pamphlet, leaflet, poster or any other graphic material that the professional or company requires.

Thus, DERPROSA continues its commitment to innovation and launches three new films onto the market in this range:

DD 230: Thermal gloss film, 35 microns.

DD 240: Thermal matt film, 35 microns.

DD 241: Thermal matt film with Soft Touch effect (smooth and velvety to the touch), 35 microns.

These digital films offer the same modern quality as the DERPROSA thermal films, although their main advantage is their bonding force and anchoring on all types of substrates, including digital inks.

Conventional thermal films only use EVA as an adhesive; therefore, they do not stick perfectly to the substrate, obliging the laminator to either completely change the lamination conditions (lower speed, higher temperature, etc.) with a high risk of delamination, or to turn to the new films specific for the purpose, which are beginning to be marketed for this application.

DERPROSA moves forward to meet the needs of the market and is launching this new film that not only responds to digital printing requirements, but can be used to laminate substrates and in critical applications, among which are:

  • when a large quantity of inks/pigments are used.
  • when high gramage paper/cardbox is used which is subjected to subsequent splitting processes.
